did you know that i was born in the philippines?
yup! and i spent the first few years of my childhood there
one of my fondest childhood memories
is the "taho man" making his way down my lolo and lola's street
peddling his freshly made taho
yelling "tahooooo! tahoooo!"
oh, how i love taho
it's sweet tofu topped with brown sugar syrup and tapioca balls
and it's made fresh every morning and then sold in the neighborhood streets
it's takes quite some time to make
so i have had to "make do"
a few years ago, i discovered dessert tofu at my local grocery store
it's pretty darn good and quite similar to taho
this morning i topped mine with fresh raspberries
yum!

There is awesome taho in Rmd! They make it fresh. Love to eat it when it's still warm. Soooo good!
I go through phases with breakfast. I used to have cereal all the time. Now it just depends on my mood / tummy. Hehe.
Happy Wednesday!! :)
dessert tofu?
so interesting! I want to know more!
that looks so good! i love dessert tofu. did you know you can get a similar drink to taho at your local bubble tea joint? just ask for "hot tofu dessert" and let the nostalgia begin! xoxo
sounds intriguing! what a special memory :) my favorite breakfast as of late is greek yogurt topped with some sort of fruit and drizzled with honey :)
i don't think that can even count as dessert. tofu is good for you! i think you can have that for breakfast lunch or dinner. so go right ahead. keep eating your taho!
yummm! i miss taho but bubble world has it... both hot and cold. or i make it myself!
Yum!! That looks delicious - I don't think I've ever tried it before! I love all sorts of breakfast foods - I think I could be happy eating breakfast/brunch all day everyday! :)
Im vietnamese and we call it ta hu..it's my favorite too with some ginger sweet toppings to it! yum yum!
i dont normally eat breakfast :(
I'm a huge fan of sweet breakfast foods like french toast and oatmeal with honey and milk. But this taho sounds quite delicious too. I'll have to see if I can find it anywhere in NYC. If not, I'll just have to take a trip to the Philippines.
That would totally be something my sister would love, cause she eats tofu any way! I've never warmed up to tofu desserts though!
