weekend snapshots

 this past weekend was filled
with celebrating our beautiful city's
125th birthday

to celebrate this great milestone
the city of vancouver
put on a 3 day long festival: summer live

it looked like lots of fun
so we packed a picnic blanket
and headed to stanley park

we didn't bother packing a lunch
because it looked like lots of food carts would be there
(vancouver is finally joining in on the trend..yay!)

we munched on smokies, poutine and the best grilled cheese sandwich i have ever had!

dairyland was there handing out free chocolate milk!
the girls were in heaven.. they love chocolate milk

the girls were able to don pirate hats, growl and say arrr matey
and build their very own (miniature) boats!

and what's a festival without face painting?

and i thought the coolest thing there
was the huge twister game

it was huge!
there was also a huge jenga game too!

and on the way out of the park
we stopped at the hollow tree
zoe thought it would be a "good photo"
( i think i am rubbing off on her too much)

pia refused to go in at first
she said it was "spooky"
but zoe convinced her to

big sisters are awesome aren't they?

happy 125 years vancouver!
birthdays are always such great fun aren't they?
what was your weekend filled with?

I would so love to visit here! Gosh. My ex is from Vancouver and he made me want to visit so bad! This makes it worse (or better!) :P I want to go to the Capilano suspension bridge. (I think that's what it's called.) :D

Happy Birthday Vancouver! It sounds like a really fun day! The girls should look like they were pretty busy - I LOOOOOVE the face painting and the gigantic Twister mat!!

funny, I just saw Twister at a thrift shop the other day and considered buying it, but wasn't sure if the girls were big enough for it (if they were tall enough to reach), but maybe it will be right up their alley!

Looks like a fun weekend.
