A broken sewing machine...

means that I focus my energy on other projects around the house that need to get done. Zoe and I usually plant flowers in our front yard at the start of summer. My DH got tired of pulling out weeds (which i don't do) and suggested that we plant miniature boxwoods and add rocks to prevent the weeds from growing. Brilliant man! As you can see it turned out gorgeous.

We took a trip to the nursery to select our boxwoods.

Zoe helping us plant the trees.

My topiary.

Those boxwoods and rocks are gorgeous! Is it too late for me to plant some at my house? You think??? I'm not a green thumb so I never know what season you should be planting what. I just listen to whatever hubby says and he does "yard work" more than I do ;)

Sorry to hear about the sewing machine! Are you looking to replace it soon? I keep debating whether I should invest my money in a Janome or if I should just get a cheap one from the big box store because I'm not that good of a sewist. Yet. LOL
