crushing on...vintage tea cups

I think my fascination with tea cups started because of my mom. She collected Royal Albert china. Her pattern was Old Country Roses.

She would often scour shops for fine, rare porcelain tea cups. She would tell my 5 year old self, "Only buy it if it says Fine Bone China" or "Only buy china that says: Made in England"

To this day, the first thing I do when I pick up a tea cup is turn it over and see where it is made and if it is indeed made with "fine bone china".

I have a modest vintage tea cup collection. Here are a few that I would love to own.

Don't they make you want to have a lovely garden tea party and sit and sip tea all day?

Lovely!

My Mum will ONLY drink hot drinks from a china mug. Because of this we have lots of China at home, including the set from the third photo down!

Those are so gorgeous! I just love the handles on teacups...you just don't get more sophisticated than that.

I've never given much thought to collecting tea cups, mainly because I don't have anywhere to store them. But now I so want to start. That first tea cup on top of the stack is just beautiful. If I had a collection, I would definitely have regular tea parties. At least once a week.
