luau ( ) n. An elaborate Hawaiian feast featuring traditional foods and entertainment
But, it was so much more than that!!
We actually watched part of our dinner being caught!
Everyone, including Pia got a tattoo (temporary of course!)
The girls are I were able to make our own lei.
Some of us enjoyed playing in the sand...
while others wanted their pictures taken because "Mom, I have pretty flowers in my hair and around my neck!"
One particular little girl wanted to climb a tree to fetch some coconuts after...
she saw this fellow do it.
And some of us just wanted to take in the view and take a few photos to remember it by.
The girls and I were also lucky enough to make bracelets out of palms and plumeria.
The girls were absolutely enamoured by the beautiful hula dancers and fire dancers! (as you can tell, so was I since I forgot to take photos!)
See, wasn't it so much more?

awwww....this really makes me miss vacationing on the islands. thanks for sharing these. the girls are adorable!
awwww i love luaus!! i remember when i went a few years ago for my friends rehearsal dinner, someone made me a flower plumeria headband and i wore it the whole night! also, the groom surprised the bride by going up on stage during the performances at the end in a COCONUT BRA, HAHAHA!! it was awesome!!
