at the drive in

One of my fondest childhood memories is of the times that my parents would pack us all in the car and we would watch a movie at our local drive in.

My hubby and I wanted to take Zoe and Pia to go see Toy Story 3. Movies are a treat for the girls and we decided to make it even more extra special and take them to our local drive in theatre.

We all changed into our jammies, stuffed the back of our van with all the blankets and pillows we owned and jumped in.

At first the girls couldn't understand how we were able to watch a movie out of the trunk of our van....

But they had fun playing in the back and eating popcorn (a movie must!)

They also had fun snuggling with Mommy!

And snuggling with Daddy too!

Once the sun set and the movie started they were in awe. The next day, it was all they could talk about.

It was the perfect way to spend a warm summer evening. We plan to do it again soon!

Thanks to everyone for your well wishes, we are finally on the road to recovery. It took more than one day.. it took three days of oj, chicken noodle soup and lot's of rest!

So much fun! I've never had the joy of going to a drive in. All of the ones around here are closed.

This looks like so much fun! I've only been to a drive in once, and the movies were quite awful. I'm going to have to look up to see if there are still any in my area.

We don't have drive-ins in the UK, but I went to one when I was in Toronto and it was AMAZING! Probably the best cinema trip I've ever had! BUT we didn't wear our PJs, which would have made the whole experience even better!

I SO want to see Toy Story 3!!!

That is SO fun! We have a drive in around here but I have yet to go this summer. I can't even wait until when I have kids and can take them to do fun things like this. We always used to go to the drive in theater up near my extended family's house when we would visit for the 4th of July every summer.
