weekend snapshots

this past weekend was filled with

lots and lots of rain! fall has officially arrived in my little corner of the world
we have traded in our flip flops for rain boots

the dreary weather always makes me want to eat comfort food
my go-to comfort food is a traditional filipino chicken stew
made with ginger, garlic, papaya and spinach
warms you right up on a gray, dreary day

pia loves goldfish crackers-- she can eat them morning, noon and night

a lil' bit of vintage shopping/looking
hubs and i have always wanted to go into this little antique shop near our home
but it's always closed whenever we happen to pass by
but it happened to be open on the weekend
and you betcha that was us making that illegal u-turn to get to the store

once again, it was just me and the girls saturday night
we grabbed all the blankets in the house, staked out spots on the couch
and had a grand time watching E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial

i have been drowning myself in chamomile tea and honey
in the hopes that this hacking cough will leave!
so far, no such luck...
at least i get to enjoy my tea in my new missoni for target mug

what was your weekend filled with?

My garden was so grateful for the rain.

Time to get out my boots, I guess!

How fun! I love the comfort food pic and the rain boots. I sooooo wish it was cold around here. I'm pretty much craving all the comfort food and warm clothes, but in 85 degree weather. It probably won't consistently get cold around here until lat November. Oh well, I can't complaint too much I guess.

loved everyone of those photos!
Please can I have the recipe for the chicken stew, it sounds divine. And Jacob and I watched ET on Friday night and we sobbed and sobbed when ET died, cheered when he came back to life and cried again when he said goodbye to Elliot. What a film.

Sounds like a super relaxing weekend. Good for you! <3

Rain is awesome when you're indoors and I love goldfish crackers too haha.

Antiquing is awesome! Did you get anything interesting? Movie nights are so much fun!

My whole weekend was spent house hunting with my sister, Maddie. I was pretty busy. :)

Oh, I've had my wellies out for weeks!

ET scares me.

Not going to lie, I just babysat for a little 1 and a half year old boy yesterday who had Goldfish crackers for his morning snack and I was definitely munching on those myself. I always forget how good those things are!

We needed the rain here, but I still hate it because we can never go out and take photos!

Btw, you have such an adorable family! :)
