crushing on...vintage tea cups

I think my fascination with tea cups started because of my mom. She collected Royal Albert china. Her pattern was Old Country Roses.

She would often scour shops for fine, rare porcelain tea cups. She would tell my 5 year old self, "Only buy it if it says Fine Bone China" or "Only buy china that says: Made in England"

To this day, the first thing I do when I pick up a tea cup is turn it over and see where it is made and if it is indeed made with "fine bone china".

I have a modest vintage tea cup collection. Here are a few that I would love to own.

Don't they make you want to have a lovely garden tea party and sit and sip tea all day?

crushing on... emily blunt

I have a penchant for period movies. So of course when The Young Victoria came to theatres, I had to see it.

Being the mommy of 2 little girls under the age of 5, it's a little hard for me to steal away to the movie theatre whenever I please. But being the lucky girl that I am, my hubby brought the DVD home for me last week because he knew that I had wanted to see it.

If you have yet so see it, you must! The costumes, the hair, the furniture (yes furniture!) the romance. Sigh.. everything was just so lovely.

And Emily Blunt is my new girl crush. She is just stunning (oh, and her acting was pretty good too!)

Take a look...

Doesn't she make a grand queen?

crushing on...picnics

Now that the weather is finally warming up, I am looking forward to one of our favourite summer traditions... picnics!!

Nothing like good food, family and friends and a warm summer afternoon.

What is your favourite summer tradition?

crushing on...braids

I wish I could braid my hair to look just like....

or I wish I had a hair braiding expert that lived with me....

We are back from the land of rainbows and palms, and we had the grandest time! But alas, we are back to reality...busy unpacking and getting back into our daily routines.

I am also busy getting ready for my sister in law's baby shower tomorrow, I am hoping to get something together for her and I'm also in charge of the baby shower games.

Sigh, so much to do... don't you feel that you need a vacation just to recover from your "vacation"?

crushing on... cardigans

I love cardigans. Always have, always will. But lately I think I have gone slightly more cardi-crazy than usual.

I purchased these lovelies from here.

For 15 bucks each they were practically giving them away (at least that is how I justified it to my hubby!) so of course I bought three!
But I have also been eyeing these from my fave store.

And these pretty little numbers from my favorite online store.

Sigh, what's a girl to do?

crushing on....all white weddings

I have weddings on my mind. No, not my wedding (been there, done that!)

I am a wedding planner and with wedding season quickly approaching, I am in the middle of planning at least half a dozen weddings!

What colour is the most bridal of all? White of course. Doing a monochromatic wedding in one colour, especially white, is not only classic but elegant, luxuious and romantic.

Sigh, isn't it all so beautiful?
