friday feet - pretty new shoes

I went shopping with my mom and sisters the other day. I love shopping with my mom and sisters, we always have a lot of fun.

My sweet mom bought me these super cute shoes (yes, I do realize that I am an adult, with my own family, living on my own, but my mom still spoils me once in a while, what can I say?) I actually have the same pair in bronze, but gold and bronze are different (no matter what my hubby says).

And a girl can't have too many super cute shoes with bows can she?

I also scored the adorable dress that I'm wearing for a mere 20 bucks (down from $128.00).

It was a good shopping day.

Our good friends are getting married this May in Maui (hubby and I were actually the ones that "set them up"!) and we are lucky enough to be able to go.

Hubby is one of the best men and Zoe and Pia are the flower girls.

Our friends have requested that the girls wear white summer dresses and chucks. Uber cute right?

We set off to find the girls their shoes the other day. There was quite a selection to choose from! From every colour in the rainbow to sparkly ones to some with different designs all over them. I picked up a simple pink pair but my hubby stopped me.

"We have to get the girls these."

He was holding a pair of the most sparkly fuschia shoes I have ever seen.

He really is the father of two little girls.

I watched Valentine's Day with my sister and my friend a few days ago. We got so excited when we saw the trailer for Sex and the City 2. I love Sex and the City! I remember Friday nights with my girlfriends, watching the newest episode and then analyzing it afterwards or copying the latest and greatest STC fashion trend (it never really looked as good on us as it did on them!). I have always thought of myself as a "Charlotte". Who did you see yourself most as?

I am so not a heel gal.. I always opt for flats... but whenever I watch an episode of Sex and the City and see all those fabulous shoes (always heels!) I want to run out and purchase some super sassy knock 'em dead heels.

I guess I can wear them dropping Zoe off at pre-school or running after Pia in the park?!?

At my feet this Friday are all the ingredients any 4 year old and 2 year old would need to make their very own Valentine's Day cards: crayons, heart foamies , doilies, construction paper, sparkles and glitter.

Like I said... I'm a sucker for all holidays!

In exactly 7 days, my little part of the world will be home to the most talented athletes in the entire world.

Vancouver is hosting the 2010 Winter Olympics. I am really excited. When I was a little girl, my lolo (grandfather) and I would religiously watch the Winter and Summer Olympics on television. Our favorite winter event was figure skating and our favorite summer event was gymnastics.

We would talk about how exciting it would be to actually experience all the excitement in person.

My lolo has since passed on, (I still miss him everyday) so he will not be able to experience all the Olympic excitement here in Vancouver.

But I do plan on taking the girls to some Olympic festivities. Hopefully we will be able to create some "olympic sized" memories for them too.

My little part of the world is in that weird "in-between-seasons" thing. It's still cold, but not winter-cold and it's getting warmer everyday... but not warm enough to break out my sandals and flips flops.

I am currently coveting these fab vintage caramel brown boots from Thrush BUT I am also coveting these flirty pink sandals from there too....

What's a girl to do?

It was quiet all through the house... too quiet. I went looking for the girls and found them in their playroom.

They had emptied their entire dress up trunk. It looked like a tulle-satin-lace-taffeta explosion. Both of them had gotten "princessfied". They told me they were getting ready for the ball...

The only thing I could do was...join them!

I am obsessed with my girl's feet. I love to kiss them and kiss them and kiss them.

These are Pia's cute 2 year old feetsies. See how her big toe is pointed up? She does that all the time. She also hates to wear socks and shoes. The first chance she gets she pulls off her shoes and then her socks... and then hides them.

This week, our family was blessed with the news of not only one but two precious babies arriving in the early summer.

My first sister in law is on her 3rd blessing and my second sister in law is on her 1st blessing. They are both due within weeks of each other!

This week, between Christmas concerts, baking cookies and watching the Vampire Diaries, I have been teaching myself to crochet.

My basket o' yarn is always near my feet. I find crocheting such a calm and relaxing way to spend an evening.

This week, I was allowed to watch Zoe during her ballet class. Normally, parents are asked to wait outside until the lesson is done.

She was so excited to show me everything she has learned these past few months. I really like her teacher, she is really good with the kids and is super sweet.

This week has been filled with fun because of our "25 days of Christmas".

I have also been busy as a bee wrapping up all of our Christmas gifts, and I'm happy to report that I am finally done. I like to get it out of the way as early as possible (along with Christmas shopping) so that I can just sit back, relax and enjoy the holiday season.

This week has been a whirl wind of holiday festivities.

The tree went up last weekend. Christmas shopping is done. Wrapping of the gifts has commenced. Christmas cards have been written. The girls have written their letters to Santa and have gone for their annual visit.

I asked Santa for a quick shot of his boots and with a twinkle in his eye he said "Ho ho ho, of course!!" Don't know if that was for my benefit or for the girls!!

This past week has been stormy, windy and very, very, very wet. The girls and I have been living in our rain boots.

Luckily, I don't mind the rain (it's what makes Vancouver so lush, green and beautiful!) and the girls love the rain. They love to walk around with their umbrellas and jump in puddles.
