slowly but surely, i have been increasing my distance over the past few months
since my first race
it hasn't been an easy road
especially for an amateur runner like me
running takes dedication, hard work and a lot of time
i have been plagued with injuries and countless sore muscles
and to be honest, there have been countless mornings
when all i have wanted to do was turn off my alarm and snuggle back under the covers instead of getting out into the cold and running
laced up our running shoes and did the birch bay road race
that's us! my running buddy and i were 3K away from the finish line when this pic was taken
(we did the 15K while my sister did the 30K)
near the end of the race--a fellow runner in front of me removed her jacket
to reveal an inspirational saying on the back
"courage to start... faith to finish"
it was just that little bit of oomph that i needed to ignore my aching muscles,
the rain and cold wind
and finish the race with a smile on my face
happy monday friends!

Congrats! :) I have just started running again and I'm hoping that my right knee won't start acting up.

That's awesome!!! I'm so inspired when I see people doing their first race whether it's a 5k, half, or full marathon. It takes a lot of training, aches, and perseverance to get that done. I'm so impressed. Makes me want to try to do it....one day. Great job Jozen!

Congrats on fulfilling your goal! There is no feeling like the adrenaline rush of crossing a finish line, and I can only imagine how overwhelming that sense of accomplishment must have felt.
Your hard work has clearly paid off, and I hope it inspires you to achieve more than you initially set out to do!
Congratulations, what an achievement!
now that's pretty neat! congrats! I would love to do half marathon one day but it's so hard to do even just 10k! hehe
congratulations! what a great achievement for you!
