the home sweet home of fallon from sweet fancy

I first "met" Fallon through a wonderful ornament exchange this sweet girl was hosting. I was instantly enamored with her etsy shop and her lovely blog.

Fallon has a penchant for all things vintage and all things hand made. Just my kind of girl!!

She has so sweetly allowed me (and my dear readers!) a peek into her charming home.

Let's start with my favourite room in anyone's house... the sewing room!!

I love how tidy and organized everything is!

Next is the master bedroom. See the little writing nook in the corner? Fallon stenciled the lovely artwork onto the wall herself!

She also purchased the desk from a garage sale (for an unspeakable amount!) and refinished it herself... I am telling you, she is one crafty lady!

I love all the whimsical touches....

Even the insides of her kitchen cupboards are oozing with charm!

Fancy a spot of tea?

I love the unique touches in each room. From the beautiful stencils....

to the quaint coat rack to....

her one of a kind pillows!

Everything just comes together in perfect harmony to create the most inviting and charming home.

Thank you Fallon for inviting us into your home sweet home!

my very own home sweet home

Hello and welcome to my home sweet home dear friends!

My husband and I bought our little home almost 4 years ago. It wasn't even built when we purchased it, so we were lucky enough to be able to pick the paint colours, the tile, the hardwood floors etc. I was like a kid in a candy shop. I loved picking out the paint, carpet, tile etc. Everything in our home is really, truly a reflection of "us".

I like to refer to the style of my home as "traditional with a modern touch". I love traditional style and furniture but I like to add my own twist to it.

For example, this is my living room. Everything in here would be classified as traditional from the dark hardwood floor to the chrystal chandelier. But we put up damask wallpaper, which I think adds a fresh and whimsical touch to the room.

The walls of my home are adorned not by art but photos of my family. This is my art. I love family photographs.

One of my favourite purchases for my home is my chrystal chandelier. We bought it at a great price and it's real chrystal! I think it adds just that extra special something.

This is the kitchen/family room. I love being able to cook and watch tv at the same time. I also love my island.

This is our TV area/family room.

This is the powder on our main floor. I love the pedestal sink.

This is the master bedroom. Sigh, I still have to get around to making my padded headboard.

This is the master ensuite.

This is Zoe's bedrooom. My hubby traced and measured the lines on the wall by hand before painting them. It was a true labour of love.

And this is our backyard. The deck was built by my hubby, his dad and brothers and my dad. Another labour of love.

And that's my home sweet home!

I hope you enjoyed your tour!

the home sweet home of helen from sheer whimsy

I absolutely adore interior design. I am shamelessly addicted to HGTV, I devour home decorating magazines and it's not uncommon for my hubby and I to spend Sunday afternoons popping in and out of show homes just "for fun".

I love all decorating styles: vintage, modern, classic, traditional, shabby chic, country cottage (the list can go on and on). I especially love looking at photos of how others have decorated their home. I love seeing how everyone's own personal style influences the way they decorate their home.

I love it so much that I am starting a weekly series called "home sweet home" which will showcase a different bloggers' home each week .

I first "met" Helen and her lovely blog a few months back. I was instantly smitten with her and her charming blog. Helen is a super sassy girl who blogs about her jaunts to the flea market, baked bliss and her handmade goodies. Each of her posts are peppered with charming bits of whimsy.

Her home is just as lovely as her and I was uber excited when she agreed to be featured on my little blog.

So, a warm welcome to Helen's home....
