(not at the same time)

is so sweet and loving

(she has to give me exactly five kisses before she enters her classroom)

loves elephants 

doesn't really have a sweet tooth

loves chips--especially cheese puffs!

says she will be a "cooker" (chef) when she grows up

this girl turned 5 years old today! 

easter prep

The girls are all about holidays

christmas, valentine's day, st. patrick's day... you name it!

the moment the retail stores brought out their easter goodies

(which was in february--no joke)

the girls would bug me "when are we decorating our eggs mama? when?!"

i almost broke down in march and had them do it then

( i can only take so much "when mama?! when?!)

but we were all able to wait until good friday to decorate our eggs

last year, we decorated our eggs with washi tape

the girls wanted to do the same thing this year too

but i also thought it would be fun to break out our paints and brushes too

i bought some wooden beads to make some necklaces 

as a part of their easter basket

they painted those too

tada!

as much fun it is to decorate easter eggs and eat chocolate until our tummies burst

it's important to remember why we are celebrating easter in the first place

my pia gabrielle is quite the character

she is an instagram hacker--

often hacking into my instagram and taking photos of herself and posting them

her favorite color is still blue

keeps all her "treasures" close by

and has requested that we enroll her in karate

one evening while tucking her into bed she tells us

"i want to be a parent..."

me: "why?"

pia: "because i want to stay up late and only parents stay up late..."

"what do you do after i go to bed?"

"watch lots of movies and have fun?"

blogging has been almost nonexistent lately (sorry!)

i am still getting use to the fact that my beloved macbook has died

and to be honest, things around here have been hectic!

i really need to set aside some time to blog because i really do enjoy it

girly goodness

 i will be the first to admit that i am a "girly girl"

i love clothes and shoes and bags

i love looking at clothes and shoes and bags

i love shopping for clothes and shoes and bags

(maybe a little too much!)

and what happens when a girly girl has daughters?!?!

well, oh me oh my!

the clothes and shoes just get smaller and cuter!

here are my girls

who thankfully don't mind having a mama that loves to dress them up!

when they were babies

 i dressed them any which way i wanted

now that they are growing up

 they are starting to have a say in what they want to wear

pia loves blue and loves to dress in blue clothes

zoe loves pink, sparkles and anything "fancy"

they both pretty much live in dresses and skirts

neither of them like pants or jeans

claiming that it's "tight on their bellies"

which i don't mind at all
because let's face it, skirts and dresses are way cuter than pants and jeans!

 

i really have to control myself and not buy them every cute thing i see

but it sure is hard! ha ha

my zoe and pia say the darndest things

 it's been really, really cold 'round these parts lately, one afternoon pia says:

"it's so cold, i need to knit a cozy sweater"

halfway through the race that zoe and pia participated in last weekend

pia stopped dead and in her tracks and started wailing

after i coaxed her into finishing and after she received her medal

i asked her "why did you stop halfway and start crying?"

pia replies: "atat (that is what she calls zoe)

passed me!!!!"

on the way to school one day we see a poodle 

zoe: "mom, did some nice french people

drop some poodles off in canada for us to enjoy?"

over breakfast one morning

zoe: "mom, can you please wait for me to get home 

from school before you fold the laundry?"

me: "sure!"

zoe: "yay! thanks mom, i love folding laundry!"

"winner, winner, 

chicken dinner!"

the best $2.99 i have ever spent

 we were at ikea yesterday scoping out shelves for zoe's bedroom

ok, i was also in the mood for some meatballs--don't judge me!

 when i happened to spy this finger puppet theatre

on sale for a mere $2.99!

when i grabbed it and threw it in the cart, hubs gave me an eye roll

whatever! i just knew that zoe and pia would love it!

so after lunch, i pulled it out

(zoe didn't have school today)

and the girls immediately put on a finger puppet show for me!

they acted out at least four different plays

and were entertained for a good portion of the afternoon

best $2.99 i have ever spent!

oh and in case you were wondering
yes, zoe and pia are sporting princess costumes and bed head
they dressed themselves and i was too lazy to do their hair
it was just one of those days!

in just one short year she went from a little girl to girl

oh my, she is growing up way too fast for me

a walk in the leaves

around this same time last year, pia and i went for a walk in the leaves

yesterday, we were driving down a pretty tree lined street and pia asked

"mama, can we walk in the leaves?"

so i parked the car, and by golly that is exactly what we did

it wasn't raining that day, but pia insisted she needed her umbrella

this little girl will be in kindergarten this time next year

boy, i sure am going to miss her

who is going to take the time to 

stop me in the middle of the afternoon and ask to go for a walk in the leaves?
